About
Rose Clancy is an Interdisciplinary Artist based in Pittsburgh, PA. Clancy creates site-specific installations and assemblage sculptures that comment on abuses human beings inflict upon one another within interpersonal relationships. Her work focuses on the contrast between neglect and nurturing, and explores internal and external transformations that occur within the process of healing from traumatic emotional injury.
Clancy’s work is informed by her life-long experience with her mother’s mental illness of Major Depression, and by her personal journey through the process of healing from Complex-PTSD in the years following her mother’s death. Her work carries the intentions of being a source of inspiration and encouragement for others affected by long-term trauma, and to serve as a catalyst for public conversation about social stigmas attached to the topics of interpersonal abuse and mental illness.
